ZURICH, Switzerland —

God bless her. An elderly woman woke up early one Thursday morning to the scary sight of her television set on fire. She desperately called the fire department and they rushed to her aid, hoping they would make it before her house burned to the ground.

As the firemen entered the residence they looked for any signs of smoke or fire, but found nothing out of the ordinary. What they did find, however, was the poor woman’s TV turned to a German station that at night aired a constant image of a fireplace.

With a simple click of the TV remote, the fire was extinguished.

The moral of the story: Always turn your TV off before falling asleep.
